A living room designed by Ruthie Sommers. With Billy Haines as her inspiration, Sommers has struck a very luxe, glamorous tone here! (Photo courtesy of Domino).
Shocking pink room designed by Ralph Harvard. Now this is bold, updated traditional! (I think Schiaparelli might feel at home here.)
A sweet bedroom designed by Nancy Boszhardt. I really like the paisley fabric the designer used for the curtains, the border on the walls, and the headboard. Very feminine!
A chic tableau, again designed by Nancy Boszhardt. Does this scream "Manhattan" or what?
Jewel tones are making a comeback in fashion (how very 1980s!), so why not in interior design too? (A Kips Bay Showhouse room designed by Christopher Maya. Photo courtesy of House Beautiful)
Dining room in the home of Suzanne Rheinstein- so very elegant and sophisticated, and is that chandelier not to die for?? (Photo courtesy of Domino)
I was just looking through the new issue of Domino last night...great rooms!
ReplyDeleteSome great rooms! Of course I always love anything Ruthie and Hollyhock is such a wonderful shop!
ReplyDeleteAll of the rooms are stunning, but I especially love the chic tableau designed by Nancy Boszhardt...so elegant!!
ReplyDeleteThat glossy red bookcase is AMAZING! And I've always loved the mass of bird prints in Suzanne Rheinstein's dining room.
ReplyDeleteThese are all great, Peak. Love the Boszhardt's mirror-on-mirror - such a chic look. And Rheinstein's DR? Wonderful - and the chandelier is the stuff dreams are made of.
ReplyDeleteThanks A and Katie! Ronda- glad you like that image too!
ReplyDeleteCourtney- I think that bookcase is so striking- I'd certainly love to own one like that!
ReplyDeleteKC- Well said about both images!
ReplyDeletethe last image...great chandelier!
ReplyDeleteJenn~
Loved almost all the rooms, esp. the one with all the bird prints, but I gotta admit: that jewel-toned one hurt my nervous system.
ReplyDeletept
Jenn- I know- I want that chandelier!!!
ReplyDeletePT- How about the red bookcase against a more neutral background? I wonder what that room looks like in person :)
ReplyDeleteJennifer,
ReplyDeleteI loved the Ralph Harvard living room. Of course, I have a decided weakness for shocking pink. I just don't gravitate toward weak, muted or insipid colors and tones. I also love anything Ruthie Sommers - that woman has serious talent!
Hi Peak,
ReplyDeleteRuthie's room is TO DIE FOR!!!!! so glam.
Anne- All that pink is major WOW! And I totally agree about Ruthie!
ReplyDeleteJordan- I know; I wish I could see more photos of it. Love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat inspiration POC!!! I say bring the 80's back if it looks like photo # 5, I just love this room...but please let's not bring back fake plants (I can't emphasize this enough :)
ReplyDelete~Kate
Kate- Agree 100%!
ReplyDeleteMe too on the chandelier! Also, am impressed with all those perfectly hung frames! Now that takes some serious planning! I once hung a group of 9 upholsterd art canvases and just getting them all lined up took more time than the actual art project itself!
ReplyDeleteLinda- I can just image the headaches involved in that! Oy!
ReplyDeleteI especially love that slipper chair in the Ruther Sommers room. You can see where her inspiration comes from.
ReplyDeleteWell you have done it again..fabulous rooms. Love Ruthie's room - would love to see more images of it. I can't quite make out what is hanging over the sofa. Is it a mirror reflecting a scene or a scene behind curved glass? Love her toss cushion with the tassels and the elephant ceramic stool. A very interesting mixture.
ReplyDeleteAbout hanging pictures, Kathryn Ireland has a wall of matching frames in her house and she says she just eyeballs when she hangs, no measuring at all = she likes when it's slightly "off." Not me! It drives me crazy. Anyway - Peak - the paisley room reminds me of a guest house that Michael Smith did once, the entire room - walls, fabrics, upholstery were done in paisley bedspreads he bought at Urban Outfitters. It is stunning - just like your paisley room!
