And finally, I want to show my photos of the kitchen at Greystone. It was not part of the tour, but I couldn't resist snooping around and taking photos of the old stove and refrigerator, not to mention the spacious cabinetry. Can you imagine how wonderful it would be to have a stove like that in your kitchen? It would definitely make me happy.

Thanks! I love seeing the parts of historic houses that the administration apparently feels no one would find interesting. It looks like the opportunity was missed to have another decorated space for the showhouse.
ReplyDeleteI love this space, somehow because its not part of the Showhouse tour it feels more special, you can actually feel the history standing in this room.
ReplyDeleteWhat I love is that you sneaked in and snapped. Looks like it was great fun.
ReplyDeleteLove these old kitchens, the one a Hillwood is on their tour and the floors and all are just wonderful!pgt
ReplyDeleteA great-looking space. Original kitchens (and bathrooms) are the rarest finds in historic houses, and even when extant are often left off tours, as you report here.
