What a thrill to wake up this morning and find an article about my apartment and me in today's Home section of the New York Times.
Penelope Green wrote a really nice article that captured my love of the great designers.

And a Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

ReplyDeleteJust read the article this morning Jennifer - congrats. I am very partial to all the symmetry in your home - gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting -congratulations! So glad to finally see your stylish apartment :-)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the article, a fitting tribute to your skills and taste. The photos are beautiful--my favorite is the one of you in your living room.
ReplyDeleteA lovely article. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Jennifer!!! Such a wonderful article, and I love the slideshow of your apartment. I am a HUGE fan of your blog, and I just ordered your book! :)
ReplyDeleteXOXO,
The Glam Pad
Loved the article (where was Alfie?) and the Homeland quote. Am so enjoying your book. I'm treating it like great fudge: going slow to savor each page. Happy holidays to you.
ReplyDeleteI loved reading the article + congratulations + great photo of you. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
ReplyDeleteJennifer, kudos! Lovely story and you have exquisite taste, but I see something missing, trimmings! Ping me for a little swag bag. Admiringly, Jana
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and yes, it is great to finally see your apartment. It has many touches (e.g. Trixie wallpaper) on my 'wish list.' I thank you for introducing some of them to me. And your bed isn't laden with pillows! I agree with what everyone else has written. Here's to many more installments! Thank you Jennifer!
ReplyDeleteWOW !!! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteIt could have happened to a more talented, or a nicer person.
Great article, and Great Book!
It's as if the NYT assembled all the beautiful detail photographs from In with the Old to present the whole picture. And, the whole picture is stunning Jennifer. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! The photos are lovely.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations - you deserve it, Jennifer. You put so much thought into your blog. I can't wait to get your book!
ReplyDeleteHi--Let me first apologize for writing a totally self-serving note. I recently toured The Breakers, and was curious as to whatever happened to Richard Nelson, whom I knew had moved to Newport years ago. In pawing around the Internet for info on him, came across your blog. I was sorry to see that he had died almost a year ago, but pleased to see that he seemed to have had a happy life and was still with James (whom we called James II) after all these years. Richard and my parents were friends in the early sixties but my family left NYC in '75 and fell out of touch with him. I am especially wondering if you have any advice as to how to track down a copy of the '67 House and Garden article you mentioned in your blog. My parents went to that Xmas party and I remember going to the children's party. (I think I might even be one of the kids in the photo in the article.) I would love to get a copy of the article/magazine to show to my parents, both of whom are still alive but not getting younger...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nancy Doyle
Break out the champagne. This is a fantastic interview. I love the apartment--just miss seeing a photo of Alfie.
ReplyDeleteTenacious excellence in every single blog post--have love them all since 2008!!!

Wonderful interview and photos. Can I ask the name of the fabric on the chair in which you're seated? I live in France, and chinoiserie fabrics are hard to come by here -
ReplyDeleteAnon- it is a discontinued print from Clarence House. However, a very similar print is available through Scalamandre. It is called "Ping" and it is printed on linen. My fabric is glazed cotton.
DeleteIt was a real treat to see our own Madame Peak at home in the New York Times!
ReplyDeleteThe accolades are well deserved. Yours was the first design blog to grab my attention
in 2008 and my interest has never waned. It's the balance of scholarship and personality
which makes it invariably satisfying. Long may The Peak of Chic reign! And by the way:
that blue tortoiseshell chimney-piece in your living room is marvelous.
I thought the article in the NYT was terrific, particularly the comments by Stephen Drucker on your blog.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to get a rug just like the leopard one you have in your place. Who makes it? If you have a chance to let me know, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
Wendy, I don't know the manufacturer's name as I bought it direct from a carpet factory in Dalton, Georgia. The factory is known as Myers Carpet.

Congratulations! Love the idea of you as the Carrie Mathison/Clair Danes of decorating, which made me smile. The apartment is lovely, beautiful photos.

Congratulations Jennifer - what a wonderful piece!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I rarely comment I'm an avid fan and long time follower of your blog. It's among the best out there and is always charming and uplifting. Finding inspiration from the past in a world so enamored with the new seems to me more relevant than ever. Your presentation is elegant and timeless just like those whose lives and style we all find so fascinating. It was a real treat to see the slide show of your beautiful apartment. Congratulations on your well deserved success! Bravo Peak of Chic!
ReplyDeleteAwesome article! Loved the analogy to Clair Danes! I don't think it gets any better than this piece. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteI want to thank each and every one of you for your kind comments. It means a great deal to me!
ReplyDeleteYour apartment looks so chic - didn't expect any less. Adore the blue tortoiseshell chimneypiece and the Quince ceiling. Congratulations also on your book which I have enjoyed enormously
