Coleen's New Venture

Coleen Rider of Coleen & Co. was kind enough to send me some photos of her brand new showroom in Los Angeles. The grand opening was last Saturday, and distance was the only thing that kept me from attending. As you can see, the always creative Coleen has outdone herself with the new space. How great is that rattan bed? I also think the outdoor pagoda is divine. I love the avocado colored rooftop with the blue painted ceiling. If you want one too, you're in luck. They can be custom ordered through Coleen (click here for more info).

As usual, interesting and beautiful things abound at the shop. Here's a peek at some of the new items:

Early 19th c. English Chinoiserie clock (love this!)

  2. Love the pagoda in the garden. Wish mine was big enough for something like that!

  4. I received an announcement this morning (via email) and was immediately taken with that bone pagoda ... and, it's actually affordable! I don't have a place for it - but it's almost worth re-doing a room for! Also, the clock is absolutely a knock-out. Not so affordable for me. LOL

I gasped when I saw that first picture. I`m not a big fan of white furniture but how gorgeous is that!

  8. Of course I love the pagoda. Coleen has such a flair for hanging art too. And the red clock!

  10. I am smitten with the bed—though it would look far more special finished with dark-red lacquer.

  12. I have almost exactly the same glazed pots in yellow, and dark varnished wood stands, one of which is featured in my post of 21 July. Love the pagoda too, although I try desparately not to be too Oriental in any design, as it's a bit "coals to Newcastle" in this part of the world.

  13. I have almost exactly the same glazed pots (in yellow), on the same stands, (in varnished rosewood), as shown in my post on 21 July. I think Collen's are taller, and that gives them drama. I used to place mine atop Chinese red lacquer chests, with uplighters behind them; the chests are now in storage in Scotland, but the pots are here. Great for filling with huge bunches of orchids....or elephant ear leaves. Or even leaving empty. I love the pagoda too, though shy away from anything too Oriental, because of where I live.

  14. I love the pots with WHITE pot stands. How refreshing! Also love the white leather chairs! I'm getting ready to re-do my old Chipendale camel back sofa in white leather!

This whole series of posts is going to ruin my attempt to be frugal this summer. First, it was the silver and glass cups from the museum. Now I'm going to start wanting bone carved pagodas. AND a new kitchen...

  18. Wow! Wish I could see more of her store too. Fantastic bed! I also love the outdoor portion of the store, not every day a showroom can have an outdoor pagoda in the back!
