I want to thank 1stdibs and Marcia Sherrill for featuring The Peak of Chic in their new column, "Blogosphere". I'm very honored to be mentioned on one of my favorite websites.
1stdibs is not only the most comprehensive site for antiques, modern furniture, and decorative arts on the web, it is also a wonderful way in which to train one's eye. I know I've learned a great deal over the years from studying the listings and reading 1stdibs' articles.
If you haven't checked out this week's new listings, do so and let me know what your favorite 1stdibs picks are.

The best thing on 1stdibs today is being offered by the gallery Assemblage, a circa-1950 illuminated Murano-glass globe with iron and brass decoration and topped with a fab North Star. It is the most glorious thing ON THE PLANET AS WE SPEAK. See http://www.1stdibs.com/furniture_item_detail.php?id=199300
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! This is one of my favorite web sites, too--this is quite an honor.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite piece is the Jansen black lacquer library table from John Norwood. I can visualize it in many different spaces, and in a variety of styles--very traditional, with lots of color and clutter, to a very spare neutral room with this being an almost sculptural reference to the past.
Aesthete and Morris- You two have excellent taste for sure! Your two picks are fabulous! I'd be quite happy owning those pieces.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Jennifer! What a great article, I enjoyed reading about some of your background. I'm a big fan of 1st dibs. Love your quick picks, especially the James Mont side chairs. Your taste is impeccable!
ReplyDeleteYou deserve every single bit of recognition!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! How wonderful Jennifer - it was so nice getting to know you a little better too! The best blog to start a new column with too.
