Quite a few of you expressed interest in the lead photo of my recent Constance Spry post. The photo shows a c. 1911 Manhattan apartment that was decorated by Alexander Doherty. Featured in the December-January issue of House Beautiful, the apartment is awash in moody colors and tranquil light.
