Most of us have home offices- places where we pay bills, use the computer, and possibly even blog. Offices have to be functional first, but this does not preclude one from injecting style and beauty into them. Here are some of my favorite offices (all are home offices with the exception of the office of Mary McDonald); my little desk looks nothing like these, but perhaps this post will inspire me to get my act together!
Gorgeous and feminine office of designer Mary McDonald
Nick Olsen's chic little tented office area in his chic little apartment.
Aerin Lauder's office in her Park Avenue home (that fabulous desk is a Gabriella Crespi).
Ruthie Sommers snappy striped office
Barclay Fryery's office tablescape
Emma Jane Pilkington's classic office

All favorites!
ReplyDeleteMe too...definite eye candy!
ReplyDeleteLove this post, esp. the Mary Mcdonald office..in fact I had a few of these paged myself for ideas :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a timely post as I am working on my home office now - So thanks! I am painting it a deep blue with lots of white trim and one wall with Rose Cummings' Zebrine wallpaper. I have a sisal on the floor and a glossy white desk. What other color(s) should I introduce? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI have always loved Emma Jane Pilkington's office. I keep checking her website hoping it's finished. Oh well I'll just have to wait a little longer.
ReplyDeleteJo- I do too! Hope it's up soon.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous- Your office sounds amazing, esp. the Zebrine wallpaper (I LOVE that print). I don't necessarily think you need to add any other colors, but perhaps a splash of red? Or, maybe a little brass (like in a lamp or something?)?
ReplyDeleteI am working on an office too! So these are all very inspiring. Mary McDonald and Emma Jane Pilkington are my faves. I keep checking her site too!
ReplyDeleteI like Mary McDonalds office the best . You do not want to see the home office I use - its my husbands and if you can imagine the opposite of Mary McDonalds - yep thats here. He has papers everywhere (don't touch - I know where everything is! ) and junk that "you never know , I might need that one day" I close the door alot. LOL

ReplyDeleteKatie- I know the office will turn out great!
ReplyDeleteLady- Too funny! At least you know where everything is!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images, I hadn't seen the photo of Emma Jane Pilington's office (I too have checkd her website...how tragic are we!) Mary McDonalds is a favorite. Love Charlotte Moss' and Aerin Lauder's.
ReplyDeleteI love the tented office. Perfect for a multi-use room! My home office is also my tv room. So, I spend a lot of time in here. But, I do have a big set of sliders that look out into the woods. I have a white carpet (ok, not the best choice for a home office!) and pale green walls.
ReplyDeleteStunning post!!!
ReplyDeleteSuzy- Glad I could show you a photo you haven't seen! Yes, I'm waiting for Pilkington's website to be up and running!
ReplyDeleteLinda- Your office sounds very stylish and very comfortable!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gypsy!
ReplyDeleteWow, my office certainly doesn't look anything like these beauties. Maybe I should pick up this book! :)
