I've long admired designer Katie Ridder's work. Her rooms are always tasteful yet never boring. There is always a sense of adventure and fun to her rooms, but there is also an intellectual streak that runs through them. Ridder never seems to employ any gimmicky decorating tricks, which in essence truly make her rooms timeless!

I agree, and I love how you described her work.
ReplyDeleteThanks Courtney! Ridder has a great eye!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful work - she has an interesting "voice." I have not seen these before - what a great way to start the day. Those orange lanterns -oh, my.
ReplyDeleteKC- I know- aren't those lanterns fantastic? And I would give my right arm for that brass lamp in the library!
ReplyDeleteI was unfamiliar with her work, but will now be on the look-out! Of course anyone with a name like "Katie" will be on my radar!
ReplyDeleteKatie- Glad to introduce you to somebody new!
ReplyDeleteI like the restraint. The rooms do look decorated, but not showy or indulgent.
ReplyDeleteNone- You're absolutely right! Not showy, something which speaks volumes about her work.
ReplyDeleteYour text is as delightful as your photos. Both are a treat to behold.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sue for the kind words. I'm so glad you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I am not familar with her work either...and I love what I see. Esp, the blue room! I love the desk and what looks like leather wall tiles at fireplace wall.
ReplyDeleteGMG- Me too, that's my favorite room!
ReplyDeleteI do not know of Katie Ridder either but I get the feeling this lady likes a clean room but loves colour and likes to use it to add a small punch - for example the blue room with those rusty red couches. They do not Scream at you but you do notice them.
